Canadian aerospace group Bombardier announced Tuesday that it has installed more than 3,000 solar panels on the roof of its service center at London-Biggin Hill airport, with the aim of reducing CO2 emissions.

The project, which is to cover the 23.500 m2, will supply up to 32% of the facility's energy needs from an on-site renewable source.

The new photovoltaic solar panel system will generate over 1,135 million kWh, reducing the center's carbon emissions by up to 252 tons.
