Asahi Group has achieved a place on the CDP A List for both Climate Change and Water Security

Asahi Group Holdings, Ltd. (Head Office: Tokyo; President and Representative Director, CEO Akiyoshi Koji) has been highlighted as a global leader in corporate sustainability by environmental impact non-profit CDP*, achieving a place on the CDP A List for both climate change and water security.

We recognize these honorable evaluations are due to our continuous initiatives including the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the use of data verified by third-party. The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions initiatives include the settlement of the Asahi Carbon Zero, the Asahi Group's medium- to long-term greenhouse gas emissions goals, in addition to uses of green electricity and energy savings efforts.

Asahi Group has pursued the excellence in quality and delivered on our great taste promise as a company which conducts business activities owing to gifts from nature, such as water and agricultural crops. To that end, we have reduced our impact on the environment and aimed to create the positive circular environment. Through these efforts, we have challenged to realize both our business growth and the sustainable society.

* CDP is an international non-profit that drives companies and governments to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions, safeguard water resources and protect forests. Voted number one climate research provider by investors and working with institutional investors with assets of US$87 trillion, CDP leverages investor and buyer power to motivate companies to disclose and manage their environmental impacts. Over 7,000 companies with over 50% of global market capitalization disclosed environmental data through CDP in 2018. This is in addition to the over 750 cities, states and regions who disclosed, making CDP's platform one of the richest sources of information globally on how companies and governments are driving environmental change.
