The Russian Emergencies Ministry's Antonov An-148 jet has successfully carried a medical evacuation of two gravely ill children from Saint Petersburg to Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.

The patients are in need of highly qualified and high-tech medical aid.

The Russian Emergencies Ministry's jet is rigged with modern equipment and special medical modules, breathing apparatus and cardiomonitors, which allow rendering medical aid to the patients during the flight.

Medical specialists from the Zashchita Center of the All-Russian Disaster Management Center of the Russian Health Ministry accompanied the patients during the flight.

Upon arriving to Moscow and Rostov-on-Don the children will be delivered to the specialized facilities for necessary medical treatment.
