JOHNSTON, IOWA - The advent of new corn fiber conversion technology may boost the number of gallons Iowa ethanol plants produce from the same amount of corn. A roundtable at the Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit will discuss this technology that makes it possible to produce ethanol from the corn fiber, as well as corn starch, and its potential impact on Iowa's ethanol industry.

The roundtable, entitled 'Corn Fiber: Adding Value,' will focus on the introduction of this technology in ethanol dry mills, how this trend is evolving, and what fiber recovery means for an ethanol plant's bottom line. Panelists include Jeff Scharping from ICM Inc., Tim Tierney from Syngenta, Cameron Cast from Edeniq Inc. and Brad Davis from Corn LP as moderator.

'Corn fiber conversion technology presents an exciting opportunity for Iowa ethanol producers to add value to their operation but it's new and there are questions,' said Iowa Renewable Fuels Association Executive Director Monte Shaw. 'This roundtable will be a chance for producers to hear how this technology is really working and if it makes a good investment for their ethanol plants.'

The Summit is free to attend and open to the public. Registration is required. The last day to register is January 27, 2017. The Summit will take place at the Meadows Conference Center at Prairie Meadows in Altoona, Iowa on Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
