Citigroup Global Markets Ltd. (Spain) (CGML-Spain) is the Spanish broker-dealer division of Citigroup Global Markets Ltd., ultimately held by Citigroup, Inc. (NYSE: C) in the US. The firm was founded in 1917 and is headquartered in Madrid. CGML-Spain acts as a dealer, market maker and underwriter in equity and fixed income securities and offers risk based solutions to producers and investors in commodity markets. Their trading activities encompass cash, exchange traded and OTC derivative markets. Its major counterparties are banks, investment banks, investment managers, insurers and hedge funds and CGML-Spain has moderate trading exposure to corporates. They do not originate securitizations or engage in leveraged finance transactions.
