WORKSPACE IS HOME TO SOME OF BLOOMBERG'S MOST INNOVATIVE START- UPS IN THE UK

Workspace Group, home to London's new and growing companies, counts as its customers three of the UK's most innovative start-ups, as listed in Bloomberg's inaugural Business Innovator List 2016.

Workspace owns and manages over 80 properties, totalling 4.5 million square feet of offices, studios, light industrial space and workshops, across all four corners of the capital. Its customers include Pact Coffee, Nutmeg and Entrepreneur First, all of whom are on Bloomberg's Business Innovator List, while former Workspace customers, Ratesetter and Lyst, are also named in the 2016 index.

The list is compiled by judges Saul Klein, Partner at Index Ventures, Eric van der Kleij, Head of Canary Wharf's incubator Level39, Second Home founder, Rohan Silva, and Zopa co- founder, Giles Andrews. The four individuals came together to showcase the businesses that are currently disrupting the way people live, work and think.

Nate Lanxon, head of tech editorial, Bloomberg, said:

"The UK is a global powerhouse of innovation and growth. With such a wealth of talent and drive, we wanted to curate a network among the business leaders who epitomise the vibrancy and diversity of the UK business scene.

Each of these businesses is, in their unique way, transforming industries, our lifestyle, our ways of thinking, the environment and the future for the better. We look forward to seeing what they will accomplish in 2016."

Nutmeg set to expand their Workspace premises

Online investment management platform, Nutmeg, currently partly based in Workspace's Kennington Park Business Centre in Lambeth, are set to scale up their business operations by moving into a larger space in Workspace's nearby Vox Studios, a former Marmite factory which has recently undergone a major refurbishment, with Workspace creating a stunning new hub for New and Growing Companies in Vauxhall.

Meanwhile The Biscuit Factory in Southwark is home to start-ups, Entrepreneur First - a pre-seed investment programme founded in Club Workspace, Workspace's co-working platform, which helps technical entrepreneurs build start-ups from scratch - and Pact Coffee

- a subscription service delivering fresh roasted coffee straight to your door.

Business space allowing start-ups to work the way they want

Ed Grattan, head of media relations, Pact Coffee, says the combination of The Biscuit Factory's appropriate heritage and the vibrancy of the surrounding area was the perfect fit for the business.

"The local area and the building are both really suited to us," said Grattan. "We love Borough Market, which is nearby, and it's great to be based in such an iconic building in the world of food and drink."

The Workspace network is now home to some 4,000 New and Growing Companies who have chosen to base their businesses in the dynamic communities that Workspace creates in its properties.

James Friedenthal, Head of Corporate Development at Workspace, said:

"We are thrilled to be home to some of the UK's most innovative businesses and are constantly adapting our offer to meet their needs.

"Our customers choose Workspace because we provide fantastic space in attractive locations, as well as a supportive and dynamic environment to help their business grow and a wider community where they can collaborate instantly with like-minded businesses."
