San Francisco - October 21, 2014 - Virgin America, the California-based airline that is reinventing air travel, has been named "Best U.S. Airline" in the coveted Condé Nast Traveler Readers' Choice Awards - for the seventh consecutive year.  This year, over 76,000 readers of the premium travel magazine participated in the annual survey, casting more than one million votes.  Virgin America landed in the number one spot, continuing an award-winning streak for the airline, which has received this top honor every year since its launch in 2007.  The results of the 2014 Readers' Choice Awards will be reported in the November issue of Condé Nast Traveler magazine. To celebrate and thank its loyal flyers, Virgin America today launches a network-wide 'Fly In Winning Fashion' fare sale, with Main Cabin fares as low as $47* (taxes and fees included and restrictions applying). Tickets are on sale now at www.virginamerica.com and at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN** and must be purchased today by 11.59pmCT.

"This latest award from Condé Nast Traveler readers is the culmination of what has been a landmark year for Virgin America as we have continued to shake up the status quo in the U.S. airline industry," said Virgin America President and CEO David Cush. "This is one of the highest industry honors and we are fortunate to receive this distinction for the seventh straight year.  This award sweep is a credit to our talented teammates, both on the front-line and behind-the-scenes, who have redefined air travel in this country."

To celebrate, Virgin America is today launching a 'Fly in Winning Fashion' fare sale - with seats in Main Cabin from $47* (taxes and fees included and restrictions applying). The airline offers guests sleek, tech-forward aircraft cabins with custom-designed seating, fleetwide in-flight WiFi, signature moodlighting, power outlets near every seat and the Red® in-flight entertainment system. The Red platform offers guests on every Virgin America flight their own seatback screen, with more than 20 films, live TV, interactive Google Maps, videogames, a 3,000 song library and an on-demand menu, which allows flyers to order a cocktail or snack from their seatback any time during a flight. Additionally, earlier this year, the airline unveiled its revamped and redesigned website, the only U.S. airline website to offer responsive design, which creates a faster, smoother and more intuitive booking experience for travelers that is consistent across all devices.

The Virgin America network continues to expand its footprint across the country with flights to in-demand destinations including Austin, Boston, Cancun, Chicago, Dallas Love Field, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Los Cabos, Newark, New York (JFK), Orlando, Palm Springs (seasonal), Portland, Puerto Vallarta, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle and Washington D.C.
