Vestas Wind Systems A/S announced it has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) deal for a 184-MW project in Australia, its largest order in the country. The European firm got the job from Bright Energy Investments, a joint venture (JV) between Western Australian state utility Synergy, infrastructure investment fund DIF and local superannuation fund Cbus. In all, Vestas will deliver, install and commission 51 of its V136-3.45 Mega Watt turbines as part of the Warradarge Wind Farm project in Eneabba, western Australia. The turbines will be delivered in 3.6 Mega Watt Power Optimized Mode with hub heights of 84 meters. In addition to the EPC works, the Danish firm will also service the machines under a 30-year full scope Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement. Commercial operations are expected to begin in the third quarter of 2020. With this contract, the company hits 1 Giga Watt of orders in Australia, its highest in a one year period. In Western Australia alone, Vestas' total installed capacity increases to 561 Mega Watt.
