Veolia has reported a 20% rise in half-year profit and a 14% increase in sales, as the French utilities company benefited from strong demand in the US, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Demand for water reuse, hazardous waste treatment and plastics recycling is increasing as countries step up their efforts to reduce pollution and combat climate change, according to Estelle Brachlianoff, the group's CEO. She also mentions the successful integration of Suez, with 231 million euros in synergies already achieved.
