The United States Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) in Argentina has recognized Tenaris with the Corporate Citizenship Award for the second consecutive year. On this occasion, the Chamber highlighted Tenaris's investment to support the local response to COVID-19.

'It is an honor to receive this award. Supporting our communities is part of Tenaris's DNA. We've always imagined our industrial centers growing together with their surrounding communities,' said Javier Martinez Alvarez, Tenaris President for Southern Cone, during the virtual awards ceremony.

Tenaris has been leveraging its expertise and resources to assist local communities since the beginning of the pandemic as part of its community-based response strategy. In Argentina, Tenaris has designed and implemented a comprehensive response plan supported by an investment of $2.3 million dollars focused on the Campana, Zárate and Pilar communities.

To date, Tenaris has contributed to several initiatives such as the construction of an emergency hospital together with the Hospital Austral and other private supporters; the repurposing of its Hotel Siderca into a treatment center for COVID-19 patients; and the expansion of capacity and infrastructure of the Intensive Care Unit at the San José Hospital in Campana.

In addition, Tenaris has donated a total of 28 state-of-the-art ventilators, along with complementary equipment; 40 oxygen cylinders; 30,000 face shields; and 150,000 biosecurity equipment sets. Also, 4,500 flu shots have been administered to employees and neighbors.

Tenaris has allocated more than $6 million USD to support communities across Latin America, Europe and North America with needed medical supplies and additional educational materials to increase awareness.
