Tokai Rubber Industries Ltd. has decided to build a new joint venture for high pressure hydraulic hose business for construction machinery with Imperial Auto Industries Ltd. Road, port and power infrastructure improvements have made significant progress in India and the demand of construction machinery has increased for construction and land works. Japanese OEMs for construction machinery have been enhancing their production capacity and increased the demand of local supply of components. To comply with such requirements, TRI decided to start local production of hydraulic hoses by a joint venture with a local manufacturer.

The Joint Venture is formed by additional contribution by February 2013 from TRI and IAI to the company which was established in September, 2011. JV will build a new plant for hose production in Neemrana, State of Rajasthan (approximately 120km from Delhi) and assembly plants in Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kharagpur (West Bengal) to build full-scale production including assembly process and supply chain to cover across over India. The new JV will be third overseas production site of hydraulic hoses to follow China (SOP:2004) and Russia (SOP: 2013).

TRI already has a plant for automotive hoses in Haryana and the same for automotive anti-vibration products in Karnataka. In addition the second plant is planning to start production of anti-vibration products in Rajasthan in November, 2013. TRI plans to enter Indian market in other fields than automotive market in India.
