The Phoenix-based company said it had net income of $1.08 per share.
The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $1.12 per share.
The miner posted revenue of $2.82 billion in the period.
For the year, the company reported profit of $3.4 billion, or $4.39 per share. Revenue was reported as $10.93 billion.
