The Corporate & Investment Banking unit of Societe Generale announced that it has launched a U.S. Commercial Mortgage Backed Securities business and hired a team of senior CMBS professionals with experience in all aspects of CMBS.

Part of a global Societe Generale initiative headed in the U.S. by Hatem Mustapha to develop asset backed product capabilities, Societe Generale's CMBS team will engage in the full range of CMBS activities from origination to distribution. Wayne Potters joins Societe Generale as head of CMBS and is based in New York. He had been RBS's head of Commercial Real Estate Group since 2013, and had been with the bank since 2010. He has previously worked at Fortress, Merrill Lynch and CSFB in various senior CMBS roles. Adam Ansaldi joins to head CMBS securitisation for Societe Generale. He previously oversaw RBS's CMBS group's distribution and securitisation platform. Prior to RBS he led the commercial real estate securitisation group at JP Morgan/Bear Stearns from 2001-2009. The other key members include Gary Swon, Joey Petras, Chris Kramer and Peter Lewicki driving origination; Stewart Whitman managing REITS origination; David Goodwin managing CMBS credit; Jim Barnard and Justin Cappuccino in CMBS securitisation; and Marty Black as CMBS underwriter.
