This was stated in a note from the Municipality of Piombino, adding that it was ordered to pay court costs totaling 90,000 euros.

The appeal against the installation of the infrastructure owned by Snam contained a number of contentions focused mainly on the protection of public health and safety, as well as the unsuitability of the Golar Tundra ship, from a structural point of view, to operate safely in the port of Piombino.

The regasifier ship moored in the Tuscan city's port will be moved off the coasts of Vado Ligure and Savona in the second half of 2026.
