Rusgrain Holding reported production results for the first half of 2014. The company produced 14,994 tonnes of broiler meat (slaughter weight) in the first half of this year, 0.6% less than in first half of 2013. Broiler meat production (live weight) edged down 0.3% year-on-year to 18,131 tonnes in first half of 2014.

Chicken egg production fell 12.2% to 325 million in the six months, down from 370.2 million a year earlier. The company said the decline was due to a 6.1% decline in the number of layers and a 5.6% point drop in egg yield. Breeding egg production rose 20.6% to 11.6 million.

The decline in operating results is temporary and attributed to equipment change due to implementation of investment project with regards to modernization of existing poultry and eggs facilities and chicken eggs production increase on Bashkirskaya poultry farm to 650 million eggs annually. Production of sausages and smoked meats was down 2.0% to 1,600 tonnes. Fodder production was down 6.8% to 110,400 tonnes, flour - down 24.9% to 47,900 tonnes, cereals - down 39.7% to 5,400 tonnes, byproducts of grain processing - down 28.2% to 17,100 tonnes and bakery products - down 31.3% to 400 tonnes.
