RBS helps manufacturer move to new HQ Wigan, January 2012

Electronic safety products manufacturer C-Tech is gearing up for growth after moving its operations from two different sites to a new 75,000 sq ft base in Wigan.

The company has invested £3m to purchase and transform a former warehouse on Challenge Way Industrial Estate into modern head office and production facility. C-Tech previously operated from two different sites in Wigan.

C-Tech acquired the warehouse site in June last year and recently completed its move. The business originally manufactured burglar alarms but now produces an extensive range of products including fire alarm control panels, voice alarm systems, disabled refuge alarms and nurse call systems. C-Tech employs 120 staff and exports its products to more than 60 countries worldwide.

One of the key factors behind the move has been the need for C-Tech to increase the size of its manufacturing facility to help meet the demand for its most popular products. The company plans to install a new £1m production line in place and is confident its move to one enlarged site will increase its £10m turnover.

C-Tech's Managing Director Andrew Foster, said: "Operating from two different sites was not ideal and limited our plans to develop the business. Bringing everything together under one roof has been a priority for some time and we are delighted to have finished the move. The new building allows us to increase the production of our most popular products and introduce new lines that will further enhance our reputation."

RBS in Wigan provided C-Tech with a £1.8m loan to purchase the new premises. Neil Marshall, RBS Relationship Director, said: "The new building is very impressive and makes a real statement about C-Tech's aspirations. We are delighted to help them make this move."
