Trial
PostNL will use the trial to study whether the machine actually meets consumers' needs. The experiences with the machine in urban areas in recent months have been positive. However, it's still too early to draw conclusions. For this reason, we also want to gain experience in more rural areas, in villages and village centres. By the end of May, there will be a total of six machines in South Limburg in the villages Klimmen, Schinnen, Grashoek, Beringe, Wessem and Limbricht.
Parcel and letter machine
The machine contains a letterbox with two openings, and parcel lockers in various sizes for parcels. The parcel and letter machine can be used 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. The consumer receives a unique code via SMS or e-mail to open the parcel and letter machine and retrieve or return a parcel. PostNL offers an increasingly wide selection of delivery options, in terms of both location (at home or at a Post Office/Parcel Point) and time (evenings and weekends).
