(Alliance News) - Piaggio & C Spa released preliminary figures for fiscal year 2022 on Thursday, reporting consolidated revenues as of Dec. 31 of EUR2.09 billion, up 25 percent from the EUR1.67 billion reported for all of 2021.

The group reported improvement in all geographies: EMEA and Americas were up 12 percent, Asia Pacific up 58 percent, and India up 40 percent.

As of Dec. 31, 2022, the company explained in a note, the Piaggio group had increased its vehicle sales by about 17 percent from the 536,000 sold in the previous year, with positive contributions from all business areas: scooters were up 14 percent, motorcycles 20 percent, and commercial vehicles 30 percent.

"The preliminary data reviewed today by the board of directors confirm the very positive trend observed throughout the course of 2022, despite the complex geopolitical and macroeconomic framework that characterized the year just ended," commented Roberto Colaninno, chairman and chief executive officer of the Piaggio Group.

"The sales performance in all markets confirms the Piaggio Group's ability to continue to grow thanks to the strength and attractiveness of its brands and its most evolved range of scooters and motorcycles ever, in terms of performance, safety and respect for the environment," the CEO concluded.

Piaggio on Thursday trades in the green by 0.4 percent at EUR3.33 per share.
