Photronics, Inc. reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended April 28, 2024. For the second quarter, the company reported sales was USD 217 million compared to USD 229.31 million a year ago. Net income was USD 36.25 million compared to USD 39.93 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.59 compared to USD 0.65 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 0.58 compared to USD 0.65 a year ago.
For the six months, sales was USD 433.33 million compared to USD 440.4 million a year ago. Net income was USD 62.43 million compared to USD 53.92 million a year ago. Basic earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1.01 compared to USD 0.88 a year ago. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations was USD 1 compared to USD 0.88 a year ago.
Photronics, Inc. is a manufacturer of integrated circuit (IC) and flat panel display (FPD) photomasks. Photomasks are a key element in the manufacture of ICs and FPDs and are used as masters to transfer circuit patterns onto semiconductor wafers and FPD substrates during the fabrication of ICs, a variety of FPDs and, to a lesser extent, other types of electrical and optical components. The Company sells its photomasks to semiconductor designers and manufacturers, and manufacturers of FPDs. Photomask technology is also being applied to the fabrication of other electronic products such as photonics, microelectronic mechanical systems, and certain nanotechnology applications. The Company operates approximately 11 manufacturing facilities, out of which three are located in Taiwan, one in Korea, three in the United States, two in Europe, and two in China.
