PepsiCo Europe and the UK Foodservice team are celebrating after renewing the packaged juice contract for McDonald's Europe until 2017.

PepsiCo will continue supplying Tropicana Pure Premium not-from-concentrate orange and apple juices in 4,600 McDonald's restaurants in Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.

The deal creates the potential for 82 million servings (21 million litres) of Tropicana Pure Premium at McDonald's per year, while maintaining brand visibility to the nine million customers served daily in McDonald's European outlets.

Carlos Lopes, Europe lead for the McDonald's account, said, "This is a major win for us and comes despite increased pressure from our key competitors. However, the quality and power of the Tropicana brand, coupled with McDonald's strong confidence in Tropicana's Supply Chain and Operations teams, won the day."

Jason Richards, senior vice president, Sales - PepsiCo Europe, added, "This deal is a huge testament to the collaboration between the European team and the lead market - the U.K. and acknowledgment of the trust McDonald's has in the PepsiCo Account teams. A long-term, sustainable beverage business with McDonald's is integral to delivering our Foodservice Strategic Plan."

The U.K. Foodservice team has also recently renewed its Quaker Oats porridge deal with McDonald's, which will include the latest innovation, Heaps of Fruit (apple and cherry), hitting stores this month.
