Tom Sterrett, president and COO of New England Authentic Eats LLC, parent company of Papa Gino's and D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches, has been named president and CEO of the company, just about seven months after he was hired from a previous executive position at Papa John's. He replaces William Van Epps, who served as the company's leader for 11 months.

After an 18-year career at Papa John's, Sterrett has spent the time since his hiring at the New England-based company overseeing the update of store interiors and introducing a staff training program, according to a news release.

"The passion that the team and our guests have for this business is unlike anything I've seen before," Sterrett said in the release. "It's an incredibly exciting opportunity for me to work with this group as we continue to shape the Papa Gino's and D'Angelo of the future."

The 59-year-old Papa Gino's Pizzeria has nearly 100 restaurants in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.
