NXP Semiconductors NV reported higher sales and earnings Monday as traction across its portfolio and growing customer demand resulted in a strong fourth quarter.

The holding company posted $3.04 billion in total revenue for the quarter, up from $2.51 billion in the same period last year. Analysts polled by FactSet expected around $3 billion.

The company cited "significant design win traction" across its entire portfolio, especially within areas of growth drivers. It added that it continues to see growing customer demand outstripping supply as inventory across all end markets remains lean.
