Nizhnekamskneftekhim : produced its 17-millionth ton of ethylene

Ethylene plant of Nizhnekamskneftekhim produced its 17-millionth ton of ethylene.

Ethylene-450 plant with a capacity of 450 thousand tons per year produced its first product ethylene in June 1976. On the 31 of August of the same year the State Commission signed the commissioning report.

The first stage of reconstruction and modernization of Ethylene production facilities, which was launched in 1988-1992, resulted in increase in capacity up to 485 thousand tons of ethylene per year. The second stage of reconstruction which took place in 2002 - 2009 allowed to increase the design capacity up to 600 thousand tons of ethylene per year. Now the annual production of ethylene amounts to 607 thousand tons.

Since the start-up the plant has processed 57.6 million tons of pyrolysis feedstock and produced more than 33.8 million tons of core products, including ethylene, propylene, divinyl and benzene.
