NGK Spark Plug Co., Ltd. announced revised from the previous forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019. The company now forecast net sales of ¥434,000 million, operating profit of ¥67,000 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥49,500 million, basic earnings per share of ¥237.78 against previous forecast of net sales of ¥436,000 million, operating profit of ¥72,000 million, profit attributable to owners of parent of ¥52,500 million, basic earnings per share of ¥252.54.

The Company has three business segments. The Automobile-related segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of parts that are mainly assembled into automobiles, such as spark plugs and exhaust gas sensors. The Ceramics segment manufactures and sells cutting tools, industrial equipment components, semiconductor manufacturing equipment components, semiconductor packages, and oxygen concentrators for medical use. The New Business segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of products related to new businesses such as the environmental energy field. It also sells materials and provides welfare services.
