According to sources compiled by The Sunday Times, Secure Trust Bank Plc (AIM:STB) is understood to be on the verge of hiring an advisor to line up a takeover offer for Williams & Glyn, the upcoming business unit by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc (LSE:RBS). Other prospective suitors for the Manchester-based 2016 releasing, Williams & Glyn business include Banco Santander, S.A. (CATS:SAN), Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria, S.A. (CATS:BBVA) and Virgin Money Holdings (UK) plc, sources told The Sunday Times.
