Investors on the German stock market are likely to take it easy on Tuesday morning. One hour before the Xetra opening, the X-Dax signaled a plus of 0.1 percent for the leading German index at 15,922 points. The eurozone index EuroStoxx 50 is expected to be little changed.

The cues from Wall Street the evening before and from the Asian stock markets in the morning are supportive. The main tailwind comes from the trend towards lower yields on the US government bond market. Ten-year bonds are currently yielding around 4.39%, approaching another two-month low.

In the evening after the close of Xetra trading, interest is likely to focus on the minutes of the Fed's last meeting. "The minutes will shed light on the discussions that led to the Fed's decision to leave the key interest rate unchanged," Postbank wrote in an outlook.

Among the individual stocks, Morphosys is in focus. Following positive study data on the cancer drug Pelabresib, the drug researcher intends to apply for approval for the promising drug in Europe and the USA in the middle of next year. The data from the Pelabresib study was eagerly awaited. Speculation about the results had repeatedly caused the share price to move sharply in recent weeks.

On Tuesday, Morphosys shares plummeted by 9 percent compared to the previous day's Xetra closing price on the Tradegate trading platform.
