Monash IVF understands the importance of providing a holistic approach to fertility care and pride itself on its patient-care model. When exploring treatment options for fertility issues there is an abundance of information available and deciphering your best way forward can be highly emotional.

The counselling department at Monash IVF endeavours to be a bridge in your IVF journey between the medical tests and procedures and the emotional rollercoaster that is so familiar to all our patients.

Our counselling department offer a unique service which includes education and tailoring information to you and your specific needs. While pre-treatment counselling is a mandatory requirement to accessing IVF treatment in Victoria, patients can use those appointments to take advantage of the skills and knowledge of a group of highly trained and caring emotional health professionals.

Your initial counselling session will be all about how to help you best navigate your IVF treatment. It's not about assessing suitability for parenthood; it's about preparing you for what others have experienced during IVF treatment.

Our highly skilled professionals can guide you through each procedure, assist you in understanding vulnerable points during treatment and help with developing coping strategies, building a support network, relaxation techniques and provide tips to improve communication with your family.

As you progress with treatment, we can provide a non-judgemental and supportive place to talk through your experiences, concerns, frustrations, and even help with decision-making processes as new options arise.

Monash IVF Counselling offer a group of caring emotional health professionals with the sole aim of providing you with what you need at whatever stage of your journey.

This service is available to you at any time during your treatment journey and can be arranged through your nurse, doctor or by calling Monash IVF reception.
