Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc. has announced that it has hired a head for its core banking unit. The firm has hired deputy president, Takashi Oyamada, on 28 January 2016 to succeed Nobuyuki Hirano as the next president of its core banking unit. He is also believed to be ascending to become the chief of the whole group.

The appointment is effective April 1, and comes as the bank claims that is rapidly expanding its business and geographic reach.
