MUFG Appoints New Member to Global Advisory Board
Tokyo, November1, 2021 --- MUFG is pleased to announce today the appointment of new member to its Global Advisory Board: Mr. Masamichi Kono, former Deputy Secretary General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
Mr. Kono joined the public service in 1978 and spent most of his career in financial supervision and the regulation of financial services, both in Japan and in the international area. He served as the Vice Minister for International Affairs, Financial Services Agency, Japan (JFSA) from August 2014 to July 2016, and after retiring from the Agency, he served as the Deputy Secretary-General of the OECD from August 2017 to October 2021.
MUFG hopes to benefit from Mr. Kono's advice and counsel based on his deep knowledge on financial supervision and regulation, to strengthen MUFG's global governance and enhance its competitiveness.
