Metavisio announces that it has just opened a 100% subsidiary in New Delhi to participate in the Indian government's public tenders and distribute its computers to the general public in stores or on the Internet.

The French company reports that two meetings were held this month with the Indian Minister of Education, meetings which 'led to a strong rapprochement, recalling that India has a growing need for access to technology' for its students and population.

Named Metavisio Computing India Private Limited, the new subsidiary will aim to bid for public tenders for tablets and notebooks, which account for several hundred million national budgets every year.

Metavisio says it has signed distribution agreements with local players and raised the possibility of rapidly creating a Thomson assembly line in India to meet part of the national demand.

By 2023, India could become Thomson's first global market, and we are already expecting the first orders from public tenders at the end of January 2023", says Metavisio Chairman Stéphan Français.
