Manulife Financial : Manulife breaks its own “Walk For Millions” record

Hong Kong - Manulife set a new record in this year's "Walk For Millions" (the Walk) charity drive in aid of the Hong Kong Community Chest's various welfare agencies when more than 3,000 participants turned out to support it.

This brought the number of staff and agents who have joined the Walk over the last 17 years to more than 15,000 - and between them they have raised in excess of HK$10 million for the Chest.

Led by Michael Huddart, Manulife's Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, and other members of the company's senior-management team, the enthusiastic walkers - all wearing smart Manulife wind-breakers - completed the 10-km journey from the Hong Kong Stadium to the Aberdeen Country Park Visitors' Centre within a few hours on the cool, sunny day.

"It was a wonderful turn-out and re-affirmed our long-standing support for this very worthwhile cause, which is exactly the kind of Corporate Social Responsibility initiative that Manulife prides itself on being involved with," remarked Huddart.

Manulife is committed to putting something back into the community it serves. To this end, it is resolutely pro-active in sponsorship initiatives and other charitable endeavours, giving the bulk of its help to those least able to help themselves - the young, the elderly, the sick and the disadvantaged.
