Manila Broadcasting Co. Reports Unaudited Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2015; Provides Capital Expenditure Guidance for the Year 2015

MANILA Broadcasting Co. reported unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2015. For the quarter, the company reported operating revenue of PHP 261,927,144 compared to PHP 211,377,197 a year ago. Net income before tax was PHP 29,374,438 compared to PHP 28,631,818 a year ago. Net income after tax was PHP 20,562,107 or PHP 0.051 per basic and diluted share compared to PHP 20,042,273 or PHP 0.05 per basic and diluted share a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported operating revenue of PHP 690,949,368 compared to PHP 627,580,680 a year ago. Net income before tax was PHP 67,402,111 compared to PHP 64,421,449 a year ago. Net income after tax was PHP 47,181,478 or PHP 0.117 per basic and diluted share compared to PHP 45,095,014 or PHP 0.112 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was PHP 20,907,031 compared to net cash provided by operating activities of PHP 2,838,633 a year ago. Net addition to property, equipment & investment properties was PHP 25,359,669 compared to PHP 13,331,299 a year ago.
The company, which set aside PHP 75 million in capital expenditure of 2015, said its ongoing expenses include the purchase and construction of new FM transmitters, extension and improvements in its head office, as well as the transfer of the location of its DZRH and Akyson Radyo Laoag station. The budget, which is higher than last year's PHP 50 million, will also be used for RHTV's expansion into various cable and TV channels, audio and video streaming over the internet, as well as improvement of existing stations equipment and facilities nationwide.
