Keihan Electric Railway Co.,Ltd. (TSE:9045) entered into a contract to acquire an unknown majority stake in Bio Market Co., Ltd. from Nobuo Seki and Hirokazu Seki on July 31, 2014. Keihan Electric Railway Co.,Ltd will acquire more than half of the shares of Bio Market Co., Ltd. from Nobuo Seki and Hirokazu Seki and following the completion of the deal, Bio Market Co will become a subsidiary of Keihan Electric Railway. Bio Market Co had sales of ¥3.05 billion for the year ended March 31, 2014.
The transaction is expected to complete in October 2014.
