Jio Financial Services Limited announced that the board of directors of the company at its meeting held on June 19, 2024, on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and Risk Management Committee of the Board, approved the appointment of Shri S. Anantharaman as Group Chief Risk Officer of the Company, for a period of 5 (five) years, with effect from June 19, 2024. Shri S. Anantharaman is a banker with over 30 years of experience in managing credit, market, and operational risks. He is an associate member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and Chartered Financial Analyst and his extensive expertise is grounded in both theoretical and practical knowledge of best risk management practices.

Most recently, he was working at Bank of Baroda, as Chief Risk Officer where he implemented well-developed Risk Management practices. At HDFC Bank, he was the Joint Head of Wholesale Credit, overseeing a $13 billion credit portfolio. As Group CRO at L&T Financial Services, he led the risk management function and implemented digital underwriting architectures, managing credit risk, market risk, operational risk, and information security.

His international experience includes senior roles at Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait, Commercial Bank of Kuwait, and Gulf Bank, where he implemented key risk policies and tools.
