Caution in Europe ahead of Powell and Lagarde in Jackson Hole
In Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.14% to 7,224.72 points at around 07:48 GMT. In London, the FTSE 100 gained 0.3% and in Frankfurt, the Dax was virtually unchanged.
The EuroStoxx 50 index was up 0.07%, as were the FTSEurofirst 300 and the Stoxx 600.

The Jackson Hole symposium, which brings together the world's leading monetary policymakers, will be closely watched by the markets, which will be looking for indications of the trajectory of monetary policies in the rich countries.
Jerome Powell will speak at 14:05 GMT on the economic outlook, and Christine Lagarde is scheduled to deliver a speech at 19:00 GMT.
In stocks, JCDecaux stood out with a 4.35% jump, buoyed by Deustche Bank's upgrade of its recommendation to "buy".
In London, online trading specialist CMC Markets
fell by 14% following a profit warning.
