Interlink Electronics Inc. announced preliminary unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2011. For the fourth quarter, the company reported revenue of approximately $1.1 million and an unaudited operating loss of $285,000. These unaudited results compare to revenue and an approximate operating loss of $1.6 million and $305,000 respectively, for the fourth quarter of 2010.
For the year ended December 31, 2011, the company reported revenue of approximately $5.0 million and an approximate unaudited operating loss of $1.3 million. These unaudited results compare to revenue and an operating loss for the year ended December 31, 2010 of $8.0 million and $1.4 million, respectively.
The company anticipates it will report approximately $1.7 to $1.8 million in revenue with a small operating profit for the first quarter of 2012; however these numbers are not indicative of Interlink's annual performance for fiscal year 2012. For the year ending December 31, 2012, management believes it will need to generate approximately $6.0 million in revenue in order for Interlink to break even, if further investment in research and development is unnecessary and there are no extraordinary expenses. The company's revenue forecasts for 2012 are subject to numerous risks.
