With a USD 50 million investment, the Planicie - Industriales 220 kV transmission line and its substations comprise the first underground cable operation ISA REP has in Peru.
Consorcio Transmantaro, a company managed by ISA REP, completed the Planicie - Industriales works. This project includes a transmission line to facilitate the expansion of the 220kV grid for Lima Metropolitana possible, providing system reliability and safety.
This energy transmission line is about 17 km long (5.2 km underground) going through the districts of Cieneguilla, Pachacamac, La Molina, Ate and Santa Anita.
'It is worth highlighting that this is the first operation where Red de Energía del Perú, ISA REP, uses underground cable. This is a big challenge since it will cross a predominantly urban area. This is one of the 220 kV energy transmission projects with the greatest extension of underground cable in Latin America', said ISA REP's CEO, Carlos Mario Caro.
As part of the good relation established with the community, which allowed the success of this project without any social conflict, the company invested USD 150 thousand to put together a Corporate Social Responsibility Plan in the direct influence area, which included the opening of innovation laboratories at Cieneguilla Schools.
