Innovative Card Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:INVC), developers of the breakthrough ICT DisplayCard security device for e-banking, e-commerce and data access, today announced that Meritz Securities Co., Ltd. of Korea will distribute ICT DisplayCards to customers to authenticate online trading, online account management, and ATM transactions. Meritz Securities is the first financial institution to distribute the ICT DisplayCard to consumers. Innovative Card Technologies' reseller Innet received approval from the Korean government's Financial Security Agency (FSA) to distribute the ICT DisplayCard.

?We have been evaluating this product informally since January, and we believe that the ICT DisplayCard offers our customers strong authentication without burdening them with bulky or intrusive technology,? said Jae Ook Park, General Manager of Meritz Securities. ?By becoming the first financial institution in the world to make this product available to customers, we are reinforcing our position as a market leader in customer security.?

Meritz Securities plans to initially distribute the card to its VIP brokerage account-holders, followed by a roll-out to most users. Meritz Securities handles $360 billion in transactions annually and has ATMs in 31 branches nationwide.

The Meritz roll-out is prompted in large part by a Korean government initiative to encourage dual-factor authentication security for all 33 million of Korea's Internet banking customers over the course of three years. This year alone, 55 Korean institutions are expected to implement dual-factor authentication systems. Meritz Securities is receiving the cards through InCard reseller Innet, which has successfully lobbied the Korean government's FSA to approve this innovative online security solution. This government approval is expected to fast-track the product's adoption by additional Korean firms.

?We are very pleased to get the ICT DisplayCard into the hands of online banking customers,? said John A. Ward, III, InCard Technologies Chairman and CEO. ?We believe that the strength of our product in securing real-world online transactions will convince financial institutions globally to come to the same conclusion as Meritz Securities ? that the ICT DisplayCard is an ideal solution for protecting customers' online transactions, and for inspiring confidence in and loyalty to their online banking and trading services.?
