A Japanese travel agency said Tuesday it has launched a premium domestic travel service using Honda Motor Co.'s small business aircraft, the HondaJet.

Honda separately said it began its "HondaJet Sharing Service" this month with its corporate partners, adding that it will consider independently offering flight packages to the general public in the future.

Japanticket Inc., one of the partners in the project, said it started to sell tours in which travelers will fly on HondaJets to Toyama, Hiroshima and Yamaguchi prefectures. These tours are aimed at foreign tourists, with ticket prices starting at 1.5 million yen ($9,500) per person.

Honda said it hopes the sharing service will facilitate visits to areas that are inconvenient to access by existing methods of public transportation.

It said land transport services to and from airports will also be provided to give passengers a smooth travel experience.

Honda has not revealed what it will charge travel agencies that use its jets in their tour products.
