Home Point Capital Inc. is a residential mortgage originating and servicing company. The Company's segments include Origination and Servicing. Its Origination segment sources loans through two production channels: Direct and Wholesale. The Direct channel provides its existing servicing customers with various financing options. The Wholesale channel consists of mortgages originated through a nationwide network of broker partners. Its Servicing segment consists of collecting loan payments, remitting payments to investors, sending monthly statements, managing escrow accounts, and managing and disposing of foreclosed properties. It originates and sells residential mortgage loans in the secondary market and typically retains the right to service the loans sold. Its mortgage servicing rights (MSRs) give the Company the contractual right to receive service fees and other remuneration in exchange for performing loan servicing functions on behalf of investors in mortgage loans and securities.
