Apeldoorn, 8 November 2012 - HITT has been awarded several new contracts in the Dutch maritime sector, the Hong Kong maritime sector and in the aviation sector in Finland. The total value of the new orders is EUR 3.2 million.

One of the new orders includes a specially designed radar antenna to be installed on a tower with a height of 110 meters. For this, the Dutch radar manufacturer CHL has specially developed a large antenna. The radar system will be used primarily to support traffic guidance of the Northern route of the Scheldt river. The height of the mast as well as the advanced radar with antenna are required to obtain a good radar image at this distance. Completion is scheduled for 2015.

The other new orders in the Netherlands include a traffic guidance simulator for the Port of Rotterdam, for which HITT is working together with the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands MARIN. HITT is also providing the interface processor for the integration of six traffic centres along various waterways in the Netherlands (Dutch Inland AIS Monitoring Infrastructure- DIAMONIS).

In Hong Kong, the existing Ningbo Xiangshan Port vessel traffic management system will be expanded with two radars, a communication system and a local VTS centre next year summer.

For Helsinki-Vantaa airport, the existing radar system will be modernized and integrated in the traffic guidance system delivered by HITT a few years ago.
