Henderson Private Equity Investment Trust plc (the `Company')

Confirmation of Receipt of Cash Distribution from Previously Announced 
Significant Underlying Investment Realisation

As previously announced on 18 December 2012 Rutland Partners has completed the
sale of Advantage Healthcare, an investment held by Rutland Fund I.

The Company can now confirm that it has received â£7.9 million in cash proceeds
relating to this realisation. This is not expected to have a material effect on
the Company's most recently reported (31 December 2012) net asset value.
