SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Harmonic Inc. (HLIT) on Monday reported fourth-quarter earnings of $6.1 million.

The San Jose, California-based company said it had profit of 5 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for pretax expenses and stock option expense, were 17 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 15 cents per share.

The video services provider posted revenue of $164.3 million in the period, which also topped Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $159.9 million.

For the year, the company reported profit of $28.2 million, or 25 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $625 million.

For the current quarter ending in March, Harmonic expects its per-share earnings to range from 7 cents to 10 cents.

The company said it expects revenue in the range of $152 million to $162 million for the fiscal first quarter.

Harmonic expects full-year earnings in the range of 56 cents to 72 cents per share, with revenue ranging from $695 million to $735 million.
