GPI WON THE TENDER TO IMPLEMENT THE

ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS SYSTEM FOR ALL OF LOMBARDY

• 32.7 million for the consortium led by GPI

GPI S.p.A. (GPI:IM), a leading provider of information systems and services for health and social care listed on the EXM market, announces that the consortium it leads has been awarded the contract to implement the Electronic Medical Records System for the Lombardy Region.

Under the € 32.7-million contract, it is to supply an application solution for the system based on a single technology platform extended to all 19 health authorities in the Lombardy Region. The overall term of the contract is four years: the first year will involve analysis, development, testing and trials, including training and start-up for the first group of 14 health authorities, whereas the remaining five health authorities are to be brought on line in the second year. This will be followed by the full-scale operation of the solution after start- up. Gpi's 38% share is worth approximately € 12.4 million.

The contract awarded by the Lombardy Region is part of the restricted tender programme under the Consip Framework Agreement on "Digital Health - Clinical and Healthcare Information Systems" (funding limit of € 900 million - see GPI press releases of25/11/2021and of26/04/2022) and will draw on the resources provided by the NRRP's Mission 6 Health.

The deployment of the electronic medical records system in all regional hospital facilities through a single, extended and integrated technology platform is a strategic element in achieving the digitalisation goals set in the NRRP. In fact, digitalisation is intended to increase regional health information assets, so as to support the standardisation of hospital processes at inter-agency level and to encourage the adoption of best practices. Digitalisation also increases the level of safety of hospital processes and thus reduces risks for patients. In addition, the quality of services is improved and major hospital clinical processes are optimised. The integration of treatment and care pathways between hospitals and local providers is facilitated through the structured exchange of data between the various organisations. Finally, complete traceability of the operations is ensured, thus increasing transparency and the protection of patients' health and safety.
