(Alliance News) - Goldplat PLC on Monday said it has promoted Non-Executive Director Gerard Kemp to non-executive chair.

Kemp succeeds Gerard Kisbey-Green, who has decided to step down as chair of the South Africa and Ghana-focused mining services company.

Kisbey-Green took over as chief executive officer back in February 2015, before stepping down in April 2019. He was then re-hired in May 2020 as a non-executive director and promoted to non-executive chair in September 2022.

Goldplat said Kisbey-Green will remain as an independent non-executive director.

Kemp has been an independent non-executive director of Goldplat since September 2022.

Chief Executive Werner Klingenberg said: "Firstly, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Gerard Kisbey-Green, for the guidance provided to myself and the board and look forward to his continued support and the value he will add to the company.

"I am also delighted to have Gerard Kemp appointed as chair, whose experience in industry, investment banking and dealmaking has already been of value to the group and I believe he is well placed to guide the board on our current trajectory going forward."

Goldplat shares were flat at 10.20 pence each in London on Monday morning.
