11/01/2012 KSU to enjoy communications services powered by GO

11 January 2012: GO - Malta's leading communications and entertainment provider - has teamed up with the University Students' Council (KSU) and will be offering KSU high-powered communication services from its vast range of quad-play solutions. Under terms of the partnership, KSU will recognise GO as its communications partner for several months ahead and, as a result, will be reaping the full benefits of top quality, technologically-advanced services powered by GO.

The partnership involves GO's supplying a hefty amount of free communications services that will no doubt hugely boost communications for KSU's dynamic team, enabling them to keep in touch with students. Thanks to GO's state-of-the-art mobile service, amazing GO interactive tv, reliable fixed telephony and high-speed internet, KSU now benefits from premium communications services.

Kunsill tal-Istudenti Universitarji is the oldest national student union in Europe. Founded in 1901, KSU represents all students attending the local University, Junior College, the Institute of Health Care, Medical School and the Malta Centre for Restoration - on both a national and international level. Despite the fact that times have changed significantly since the organisation was founded, the aims of KSU still remain very pertinent to current lifestyle trends with the focal point being the contributions each and every student can give to University and to society at large.

KSU is an ideal forum where students get the chance to express their ideas regarding diverse issues not necessarily associated with their studies. The ongoing drive is to represent students on all issues, to serve as a link between students and relevant authorities, to democratise education in Malta, coordinate activities with other organisations, nurture interest in various fields including education, socio-political and culture and to go all-out to achieve top quality levels in higher education.

"We are delighted to be at the forefront in giving our full support to KSU for the benefit of young people who are tomorrow's workforce. We consider this as part of our responsibility to the local community," said GO's Chief Executive Officer, David Kay.

"This is certainly not the first time that GO is responding positively to a request for assistance from the University Students' Council. We are in fact honoured to be among the first companies to support the sterling work undertaken by KSU towards improving student life, gearing young people to become part of Malta's workforce and enhancing further development of Malta's knowledge society."

During the signing of the partnership agreement held at GO's head offices in Marsa, KSU vice-president, David Camilleri, thanked GO for its ongoing support. "Thanks to GO's sponsorship, KSU is now in a excellent position to enhance communications with students and to ensure that their course of studies and their life on campus will provide them with the academic expertise to face up to future challenges in the workplace and gear them to be street wise and prepared to tackle, in the future, mundane problems that are part and parcel of adult life."
