Globe Metals & Mining Limited advised that the Company has appointed Mr. Michael Choi OAM JP and Mr. Michael Barrett as Independent Non-Executive directors of the Company, effective 17 December 2021. Mr. Choi will Chair the Company's newly established Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee while Mr. Barrett will be a member of the ESG Committee and the Audit and Risk Committee. Mr. Choi is a former member of parliament of Queensland and held the position of Parliamentary Secretary (assisting on ministerial matters) with portfolios including natural resources, mines and energy, trade as well as multicultural affairs. He was the first Asian-Australian elected to Queensland parliament. In his career, Mr. Choi was recognized with multiple awards, including the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM), Lord Mayor's Business Award among others. Mr. Choi has served as Honorary Ambassador for Brisbane city, fostering ties between Brisbane and Asia Pacific countries, as well as chairing the Sister Cities Committee with the Chinese city of Shenzhen. He was the former chair of the Queensland Small Business Council. Mr. Choi's experience in mining includes policy setting, regulations, negotiation with authorities, project assessment, feasibility, CAPEX, all acquired in his Assistant Minister role in the Queensland Government with mines and energy portfolios. Globe also announces that Mr. Bill Hayden has advised the Company of his resignation from the Board of GBE with effect on 31 December 2021, choosing not to stand for re-election at the Company's rescheduled Annual General Meeting (AGM) which will be held on 31 January 2022.
