I am pleased that almost half of this year's cohort are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, demonstrating Fortescue's commitment to providing employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians.'
Fortescue's Apprenticeship Program provides Apprentices the opportunity to grow and develop both their skills and knowledge during a four-year structured Apprenticeship Program.
Since it was established in 2011, 240 apprentices have graduated and gone on to commence employment with Fortescue. The program consists of a range of trade streams including Electricians, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians, Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanics, Fixed Plant Fitters, Heavy Fabricators, Automotive Electricians, Light Vehicle Mechanics and Service Persons.

'I absolutely loved participating in the program. It has been great getting exposure to different departments which has allowed me to try things I would not normally do,' she said.
'My advice to future apprentices is to be a sponge and ask plenty of questions, make sure you have a good work ethic and give everything a go.'
