Fortescue Ltd. announced that Usha Rao-Monari will be appointed as a Fortescue Board Director (subject to normal procedures). Ms Rao-Monari has over 25 years of experience in finance and investment, with a focus on the infrastructure sector. Rao-Monari currently holds a wide portfolio of non-executive and advisory roles including; Singapore's International Advisory Panel on Carbon Markets; Force for Good Advisory Board; Voluntary Carbon Markets Integrity Initiative Steering Committee; NewAg Partners Advisory Board; Commissioner on the Global Commission on the Economics of Water; and Saudi Arabia's International Steering Council for Environment for NEOM.

Rao-Monari is also the former Under Secretary General and Associate Administrator for United Nations Development Programme and has held a variety of executive and non-executive positions including with Blackstone Infrastructure Group, Global Water Development Partners, UPL and International Finance Corporation. Ms Rao-Monari has a Bachelor of Economics, a Masters in Management Studies and a Masters in International Affairs and Finance.
