(Alliance News) - The Mib opened slightly higher on Friday, with other European exchanges moving equally around parity giving signs of a slowdown ahead of the Christmas celebrations coming this weekend.

In the U.S., Wall Street closed the session lower with the Dow down more than 1.0 percent and "investors remaining cautious, weighing the prospect of higher interest rates against better-than-expected corporate earnings this week. To wrap up the week, investors are focusing on a key measure of U.S. inflation expected at lunchtime, the PCE price index, which could provide clues about the Fed's next move," commented Victoria Scholar, chief investment officer at interactive investor.

The FTSE Mib, therefore, opened in the green by 0.1 percent at 23,826.94.

London's FTSE 100 opens slightly up at 7,474.50, Paris' CAC 40 is in the fractional red at 6,517.86, and Frankfurt's DAX 40 is in the green by 0.1 percent at 13,931.95.

Among the morning's macros, Spain's National Institute of Statistics reported that quarterly economic growth was revised downward to 0.1 percent in the third quarter of 2022 from a preliminary estimate of 0.2 percent and after an upwardly revised 2.0 percent expansion in the previous quarter.

French statistical agency INSEE, meanwhile, reported that producer prices in French domestic markets rose 1.2% month-on-month in November 2022, reversing October's 0.2% decline.

Mid-Cap is down 0.1 percent to 39,330.48, Small-Cap is up 0.2 percent to 27,641.69, and Italy Growth is up 0.3 percent to 9,202.64.

On the main list in Piazza Affari, Terna is down 0.1 percent. On Thursday, it finalized the second closing for the sale to CDPQ, a global investment group, of Difebal SA, owner of a power line in Uruguay totaling 214 km for a consideration of more than EUR27 million, in line with the terms of the agreement.

The sale of the other projects in Brazil and Peru will be finalized in several stages, consequent to the fulfillment of certain conditions.

Leonardo picks up 0.8 percent. At the same time, the sale by EGA of the business unit involving the hotel management of the Royal Garden Hotel was finalized.

Aeffe opens up 2.0 percent after announcing Thursday that it has signed the deed of merger by incorporation of its wholly owned subsidiary Velmar Spa.

Civitanavi Systems ends up on the bottom and gives up 8.5 percent after approving its 2023 budget on Thursday and communicating updated total revenue and adjusted Ebitda targets for fiscal year 2023, "to better reflect in the projections the changed macroeconomic scenario compared to what was published in early February 2022," the company explained in a note.

Thus, the guidance was updated by forecasting a total revenue target within the range of EUR42-46 million as of December 31, 2023, and adjusted Ebitda margin of about 29 percent.

In Asia, the Nikkei 225 gave up 1.0 percent, the Shanghai Composite lost 0.3 percent and the Hang Seng closed 0.4 percent in the red.

Among currencies, the euro changed hands at USD1.0605 versus USD1.0599 at Thursday's close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2051 from USD1.2019 on Thursday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude is worth USD81.92 per barrel from USD81.40 per barrel on Wednesday night. Gold, meanwhile, trades at USD1,797.50 an ounce from USD1,804.05 an ounce on Thursday evening.

On Friday afternoon's macro calendar, overseas, the PCE index-the Fed's main indicator for measuring inflation-, personal income data and durable goods orders are expected at 1430 CET.

At the same time, Canada will release GDP data.

Among companies listed on the Stock Exchange, no particular events are expected.
